The East Main Street Road Project
We hope these photos will help you visualize this up coming project. If you have any questions you can call Legislator Eddington's office at 854-1400. Any suggestions to Focus please go to the contact us page. Thank you.

Legislator Jack Eddington Introduced the project engineers
Mr. Bill Hillman PE, Chief Engineer for Highways, and
Mr.Daniel Dresch Jr. Director Traffic Engineering.

Mr. Bill Hillman was the principle speaker at the meeting. He explained
the details of the project and answered most of the questions.

Mr.Daniel Dresch Jr. explains some of the changes at the intersection of
Route 112. The vacant CVS building will have restrictions on traffic
with only an In right and Out right traffic flow. This will prevent
motorists from crossing Main Street northbound to Route 112.
The following are photos of each section of the plan from Route 112 and Main Street east to Route 101 by the new Lowes.

Intersection of Main Street and Route 112

Intersections of Case and Evergreen Avenue

To the right is the intersection of Grove and Avery. Note that the parking area is now in front of Peter's Restaurant. The green area is to the right of the Plaza Theatre.

This is a closer view of Grove and Avery as well as the new intersection of Washington and Conklin.

This is the intersection of Phyllis Drive and Main Street. Unfortunately the focus is off. The intersection will remain similar but will have center turning lanes. There will be one lane of traffic from Lake Drive and then will split into two lanes about half way toward Phyllis. The left lane going west and the right for right turn only lane. An entrance adjustment must be made at CVS for traffic safety but it is not clear what will be changed.

This is the intersection of South Country Road, Montauk Highway and Lake Drive. There will be no left turn going west at this intersection. The right lane traveling east onto South Country Road will be traffic controled but will remain right lane only. There will be a center turning lane for Lake Drive. Curb cuts will direct traffic into and out of the parking lot of Swan Cleaners-Les Pizza-Swan Bakery-Swan Deli.

The drawing is cut off by the entrance to the Shopping Center at the top left. The next entrance is by the small shopping area. (HowMay, etc) The last intersection is at the corner of Route 101, Montauk Highway (Main Street) and Robinson Blvd.
