Here are the good news items for us...
as well as the issues of most concern in our area.

The Town has taken the Plaza by storm!
The hope is for a May date to take it down
This piece of property will be Town owned soon
for land preservation. (Open space)
It is to the east of Friendly Restaurant
Hey isn't it great that the County Public Works decided to give
the KFC their own main street entrance! I wonder how much
this cost us, since we lost a second lane on Montauk?
We want the second lane returned before they repave.
Here's another winner!
Several civic leaders met to discuss many of our road design concerns.
It was agreed on a handshake that they would be done. Everything that
we spoke of was ignored, including the locating of this bus box in front
of the new Columbian Restaurant.
We're trying to improve the look of our area, with millions spent for a
new road, and this is the thinking we must deal with. The box is filthy
and it's not there six months yet! We discussed this issue in 2006!
We have been on this issue since 2009 at the least.
National Grid intends to leave this military fence up and
claims this is for employee parking.
We want the adjoining owner to swap land with them so
that we can create some public parking and allow this adjoining
building the space to have a rentable property. It is a win win
for all of us. Our utility doesn't agree......yet!
(Note the narrow driveway for this building. We are trying to
improve the area not make it more depressed!)
This is the BIG ONE! (followed by the Hospital Road Bridge expansion)
It's "We want a Supermarket...NOW!....time.
So the A & P has been controlling our area for some time now.
Now they have managed to be in debt and need to file for
bankruptcy. This building is still empty!
If we need to picket and protest the owners of the property
then the time is coming soon to do so!
We need to organize an email attack on some of the supermarket
owners and let them know that they can make money here!
We're tired of hearing the economy excuse!
Build it and we will come.....
